Inspirations and themes

Inspiration often begins close to home.  Family, relationships, and the complicated ways people love and understand one another are at the heart of the stories I’m drawn to tell.  Colorado provides the backdrop- the changing seasons, Mountain View’s, quiet trails, small towns, and wide-open spaces that leave plenty of room to think and imagine. Somewhere between the people I love, the place I call home, and the ordinary moments that make a life, stories begin to take shape.

What genres do you specialize in?

I write psychological and contemporary fiction that lives in the gray areas- where love gets complicated, families carry secrets, memories can't always be trusted, and the truth changes depending on who's telling the story.

Where do you draw your inspiration from?

I've always been inspired by the people and moments that stay with us.  My mom and my family have shaped so much of who I am, while growing up, navigating relationships, and building a life in Colorado have given me countless moments to draw from.  I write from the emotions I know- the love, uncertainty, memories, heartbreak, laughter, and complicated connections that make us human.  Somewhere between real life and imagination, those pieces find their way into my stories.
